The area of Elafina, in Imathia, enables the visitor to walk along its beautiful paths, taste crisp chestnuts, clean walnuts, delicious blackberries and therapeutic cornels.

Mountain tea, oregano as well as scarce mushrooms thrive round the village and within the surrounding forest.

Elafina is appropriate for hunting of any kind, such as wild boar, hare, pheasant, thrush, and woodcock. The number of deer living in the area of Elafina today is small, but in the past Elafina used to be place a place full of dear. The area is supposed to have been a hunting place for ancient Macedonians, who dashed from neighboring Vergina.

The guesthouse and its rooms are situated in an advantageous point for the tourists seeking a base to go sight – seeing in the wider area of Western Macedonia.

Close at hand, as shown on the map, there is the Holy Monastery of John the Baptist, All Saints and Virgin Mary of Soumela.

The area is of great historical interest as within a short distance there is the archaeological site of Vergina as well as the site of Ancient Pella and Dion.

The nearest ski resort is the one in Elatochori. However, in less than an hour, one can run over to Seli or Tria Pente Pigadia.

Having Egnatia Road within easy reach, the visitor, based in Elafina, can take a trip to both Veria and Kozani, Kastoria, Florina, Grevena, Edessa and nearby areas.
